What Is Blogging?
Think of blogging as a way for people to share their thoughts, experiences, and expertise on the internet. It’s like keeping a journal or writing articles, but instead of doing it privately, bloggers publish their content on a website called a “blog.”

How Can I Earn from my Blog?
1. Get Affiliate links
What is an Affiliate Link? You may hear this word often across all social media platforms. But what is it? Affiliate links are unique URLs that are used to track referrals and sales generated through your advertising efforts. When someone clicks on your affiliate link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission or a percentage of the sale.
Here’s how you can get affiliate links:
Choose an Affiliate Program: First, you need to join an affiliate program. For example on my website, since my web hosting platform offers a referral fee commission. This is by far the easiest affiliate program to get into.
I use Hostinger as my web host and they offer an Affiliate referral link to their subscribers. If somebody signs up using my referral link, I get a commission with this program, usually they give you a unique URL so nobody can get your own link and commissions.

Sign Up and Get Approved: After selecting an affiliate program, you need to sign up for it. Fill out the application form and provide the required information. Some affiliate programs might require you to have a website or social media presence to get approved.
For Hostinger, you don’t need any social media presence, as long as you are using their services you can be an affiliate.
Advertise Ethically: When promoting affiliate products, it’s important to do so ethically and transparently. Always disclose that you’re using affiliate links, and provide genuine and valuable information to your audience.
Remember that success in affiliate marketing often requires building trust with your audience and providing valuable content. It’s not just about sharing links, but about helping your audience make informed decisions based on your recommendations.
2. Guest post
Guest posting, also known as guest blogging, is also a way to generate revenue on your website. This is where another website owner publishes an article or blog post on your website or vice versa, you may do so as well. This is to contribute to your website and to gain more visibility plus authority on your website and their website. Just make sure that what they are writing for your website is relevant to what you promote on your website.
It is up to you how much you want to charge someone to guest post on your website. It can range from about $20-$100, it may vary as well on how much duration you will keep their content on your website once you agree with guest posting.
Follow Guidelines: Some websites might have specific guidelines for formatting, word count, images, and other aspects of the guest post. It’s important to follow these guidelines closely.
Submit the Guest Post: Send your guest post to the host website’s editorial team for review. They might provide feedback or make edits to ensure the content meets their standards.
Author Bio and Backlinks: Typically, guest posts include an author bio section at the beginning or end of the article. This is where you can introduce yourself and provide information about your expertise and a link back to your own website, blog, or social media profiles.
Benefits of Guest Posting:
- Exposure: Guest posting allows you to reach a new and broader audience, increasing your online visibility.
- Credibility and Authority: Publishing high-quality content on reputable websites can help establish you as an expert in your field.
- Networking: Guest posting fosters connections with other writers, bloggers, and professionals in your industry.
- Backlinks: Guest posts often include backlinks to your website, which can improve your site’s search engine ranking.
- Audience Engagement: If readers find value in your guest post, they might engage with you, visit your website, and become potential followers or customers.
Guest posting should focus on providing value to the host website’s audience and building relationships within your industry. It’s not just about self-promotion but about contributing meaningfully to the community.
3. Selling AD Space
Selling ad space on your website is a way to generate revenue by allowing advertisers to display their advertisements on your site. This monetization strategy is common among website owners, bloggers, and content creators.
Remember that the success of selling ad space depends on your website’s traffic, niche, and audience engagement. It’s important to maintain a balance between generating revenue and providing value to your audience. Ensure that the ads you display are relevant and do not negatively impact the user experience on your site.
Real-life experience: Previously, I had to create a banner for my client to post on my website which can charge up to $20 per 6 months and can be re-continued.
